X reveals to users when governments have restricted access to their posts

X announced the expansion of its transparency tools, enabling users to determine whether their posts or accounts have been subject to access restrictions due to the platform’s compliance with local laws or government requests.

Through the Under the Hood tool, users will be able to identify posts that were blocked in a specific country based on a legal request, as well as the country from which the request originated. The tool also displays any restrictions or classifications that affected the reach of the account and its posts during the previous month.

This move is part of X’s broader initiative to provide greater transparency regarding its content moderation mechanisms and the factors influencing post reach on the platform.
