Iraq suspends flights to Iran starting Tuesday

Two government sources told the French news agency AFP on Monday that Iraq will suspend flights by Iranian airlines, following Washington’s announcement that these airlines would cease operations within hours due to U.S. sanctions against them.

An Iraqi government source said, “Iraq will implement the ban on Iranian airlines in compliance with the U.S. Treasury Department’s decision, effective from early Tuesday morning,” adding that “countries that fail to implement the decision will be subject to similar sanctions.”
