Beijing turns chicken into "ice cream"

From cucumbers and eggplants to fried chicken... at first glance, these displays appeared to be fresh food, but a closer look revealed that they were actually ice cream. These eye-catching innovations caught the attention of Yash, a confectioner from India, during the 28th Chinese Ice Cream and Frozen Food Industry Exhibition, recently hosted by the Tianjin municipality in northern China.

According to a report published today by Xinhua, the research firm Emedia noted that China’s ice cream market has experienced rapid growth, reaching a value of 191.2 billion yuan in 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 4.19 percent.
