Writer Othman Al-Shatti announced the start of filming for his latest dramatic work, “Al-Wad’ Aayli” (Family Situation), which is scheduled to air during the upcoming Ramadan season. The series features a cast of top artists and blends comedy with social themes, unfolding over 30 connected episodes.

In a statement, Al-Shatti revealed that filming for the project, which began yesterday in Kuwait, had seen its title changed from “Qismah wa Lahib” to “Al-Wad’ Aayli.” He explained that the series is a social comedy designed to suit the atmosphere of Ramadan, presenting a range of social issues through the story of a large family whose relationships and daily interactions are intricately intertwined.

He noted that the plot centers on the family of Nasir Mansour Al-Muntasir and his four sons: Nisar, Mansour, Nasser, and Nasra, along with their extended circle of colleagues and relatives. The narrative features unusual events and unexpected situations within a family that follows its own unique lifestyle, generating a series of stories and scenarios that combine comedic elements with social depth.

Al-Shatti pointed out that the series addresses several social issues, including reluctance to marry, early marriage, and family disputes. He emphasized that these topics are handled through a mix of messaging and entertainment, expressing his hope that “Al-Wad’ Aayli” will resonate with audiences during Ramadan.

He added, “I hope the work achieves success with the public and serves as a delicious Ramadan treat. It also adds to my artistic portfolio, especially following a number of previous works that were successful in past seasons and raised the bar of expectations and trust between me and the audience, such as ‘Batin wa Dhahr’ (Inside and Outside) and ‘A’ila Ma’ila’ (A Tilted Family), among other social series that carry both educational and entertaining messages.”

Regarding his ongoing collaboration with actor Ahmed Al-Jomea and Jarnas for Artistic Production, Al-Shatti expressed his happiness with this partnership, which spans five dramatic experiences. He said, “I thank Ahmed Al-Jomea and his production company, Jarnas. Our relationship and artistic partnership with them have extended over five works: ‘Batin wa Dhahr’ (Parts One and Two), ‘A’ila Ma’ila,’ along with ‘Al-Wad’ Aayli,’ and a seasonal series that has not yet been revealed.”

He affirmed that this collaboration represents a distinctive experience for him, noting that he enjoys working with Al-Jomea. “I am very much enjoying this collaboration, especially with artist Ahmed Al-Jomea, who provides a stimulating environment for creativity and development at all levels of production, while strongly supporting the artists,” he said.

Regarding the production team, Al-Shatti expressed confidence in director Ali Bader, stating, “We began filming yesterday, and I have great confidence in my colleague, director Ali Bader, to deliver a work in a stunning presentation for the audience.”

“Al-Wad’ Aayli” is written by Othman Al-Shatti, who handled the story, screenplay, and dialogue. Ali Bader directs the series, under the general supervision of Maytham Bader. It is produced by Jarnas for Artistic Production. The cast includes Ahmed Al-Jomea, Ahmed Al-Awan, Shaima Ali, Abdullah Al-Khader, Zainab Bahman, Meshal Al-Shaie, Saudi artist Hilda, Shahd Salman, Dhafer Al-Rashdan, Abdullah Ghaloom, Maytham Bader, Jalnar, Shahd Al-Kuwaiti, and a number of young faces.
