Al-Jaber discusses updates on the case of missing Kuwaitis with the UN representative

On Sunday, September 20, 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber Al-Sabah met with Ms. Mari Yamashita, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2792 (2025) concerning the follow-up on the case of missing Kuwaitis and third-country nationals, and the return of Kuwaiti property, including the National Archives, at the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, efforts were discussed to achieve tangible progress in the search for the missing Kuwaitis and third-country nationals, to determine their fate, and to recover Kuwaiti property, including the National Archives.
