Kuwait Hospital in Gaza ceases patient admissions due to fuel shortage

The administration of Kuwait’s Field Specialized Hospital, “Shifa Palestine,” in the Gaza Strip, announced on Saturday that hospital departments and patient intake services would cease operations starting Sunday, with the exception of the emergency department, due to the halt in fuel supplies necessary to power the facility.

The hospital administration stated in a press release that the interruption of fuel supplies is hindering the operation of departments and medical services, while the emergency department will continue to operate in the coming period.

According to the statement, the administration called for a protest against the Israeli occupation’s cessation of fuel supplies required to run the hospital, warning that this poses a direct threat to the continuity of healthcare services provided to patients.

The health sector across the Gaza Strip is suffering from a shortage of energy and alternative generators for electricity production, leading to the shutdown of more than 20 hospitals and health centers.
