Foreign Minister Signs Cooperation Memorandum with Canadian Counterpart on Defense and Security

Foreign Minister Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber signed a memorandum of understanding with his Canadian counterpart, Anita Anand, between the State of Kuwait, represented by the Ministry of Defense, and the Government of Canada, represented by the Canadian Commercial Corporation, regarding cooperation in the field of defense and security.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that the signing took place at the conclusion of Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber’s meeting with the friendly Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, during his official visit to the Canadian capital, Ottawa.

The statement added that the meeting reviewed the close relations between the two friendly countries and reaffirmed both sides’ commitment to intensifying Kuwaiti-Canadian coordination across all levels and strengthening bilateral cooperation frameworks in various fields, reflecting the robust and distinguished relations between the two countries and advancing them toward broader horizons to serve their shared interests.

The two sides also discussed recent regional and international developments and exchanged views on issues of common interest, foremost among them the developments in the region and diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and enhancing security and stability.
