Injuries to Nasser and Falah not a concern for the Blue Team ahead of Gulf Cup 27

Kuwaiti national football team players Yousef Nasser and Mohsen Fallah participated in the team’s training session held on Sunday in Jeddah, as part of preparations for the “Gulf Cup 27” tournament, which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host from the 23rd of this month until October 6.
The two players had sustained injuries during Al Kuwait Club’s match against Al Wehdat of the United Arab Emirates, which took place last Wednesday evening in the opening round of the AFC Champions League Two.
Dr. Abdulmajid Al-Bunai, head of the medical department at the Kuwait Football Association and head of the senior national team’s medical staff, told “Al-Jarida” that, based on the examinations he conducted on the players immediately after they joined the delegation in Jeddah, they require only two days to recover and rejoin their teammates in group training sessions.
In related developments, several players of the “Blue” squad suffered minor bruises that do not qualify as “injuries,” following assessments by Dr. Al-Bunai after the conclusion of the match against Yemen, which was played on the first day in Jeddah.
The “Blue” squad lost to the Yemeni national team 2-1. Kuwait’s goal was scored by Mohammed Daham after the ball deflected off the body of Mمدوح Ben Ajaj, while Ahmed Maher and Omar Al-Dahi scored for Yemen.
The technical staff, led by Portuguese coach Helio Souza, fielded players from Al Kuwait Club, excluding Yousef Nasser and Mohsen Fallah. He made substitutions at the midpoint of the first half, the midpoint of the second half, and at the end of the match.
It is worth noting that this is the first defeat for the Kuwaiti national team against the Yemeni national team, bearing in mind that the primary objective of such matches is to prepare the team for the “Gulf Cup 27,” regardless of the result.
The “Blue” squad did not deliver the expected performance in the match against Yemen, which is understandable given that the squad was only fully assembled in Jeddah, while Al Kuwait Club’s players were absent from the training camp held in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
The match revealed that Souza has not yet finalized the lineup he will field in the “Gulf Cup 27” competitions.
Members of the technical and administrative staff urged the players to move past the match, learn from their mistakes and shortcomings, and focus on training in preparation for the Gulf tournament.
Starting from today’s training session, Souza is focusing on correcting errors and addressing weaknesses, particularly as the “Blue” squad will face the host nation, Saudi Arabia, in the tournament’s opening match.
