National Bank Launches NBK Reach Program

National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) has launched the NBK Reach program, a specialized initiative designed to develop and prepare Kuwaiti students studying in the United Kingdom. The program aims to identify and attract promising national talent, enhance their professional readiness, and foster early engagement with the banking sector, thereby helping to build a generation of Kuwaiti talents capable of leading the future of business and the economy.
The program is driven by NBK’s belief in the importance of investing in young national talent and its ongoing commitment to supporting Kuwaiti students throughout their academic and professional journeys. By providing a professional training environment that enables students to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application, the program helps them gain hands-on experience and professional skills that enhance their readiness to enter the workforce with confidence and competence.
NBK Reach offers a comprehensive professional development experience targeted at high-potential Kuwaiti students in the UK. It provides them with close exposure to the banking work environment, participation in specialized training and development programs, and access to professional mentoring and interaction with the bank’s leadership and experts, all of which contribute to refining their skills and broadening their professional horizons.
The program also grants participants the opportunity to undertake an internship at the bank’s London office, allowing them to gain direct insight into the nature of work at one of the leading banking institutions and acquire practical field experience within a professional environment that reflects global banking standards.
Furthermore, the program enables students to explore various roles and functions within the banking and financial sectors and interact with the bank’s teams and experts. This helps develop their professional and personal skills, deepen their understanding of the business environment, and better prepare them to launch their careers after graduation.
The program reflects the bank’s approach to adopting innovative methods for attracting and engaging national talent at early stages of their academic journeys. This contributes to building a future base of qualified competencies capable of keeping pace with rapid transformations across various economic sectors, particularly the financial and banking sectors.
On this occasion, Ghadir Al-Kuhaji, Senior Vice President and Head of Talent Acquisition in the Human Resources Department of National Bank of Kuwait Group, stated: “We believe that investing in youth is an investment in Kuwait’s future. Therefore, we launched the NBK Reach program to build effective bridges of communication with outstanding Kuwaiti students in the UK, enabling them to gain close exposure to the banking work environment and acquire practical experience and specialized skills that support their future professional journeys.”
Al-Kuhaji added: “The program reflects our strategy of developing human capital and attracting promising national talent at early stages of their academic careers. This enhances the readiness of young Kuwaitis to engage in vital sectors, foremost among them the financial and banking sectors, and contributes to preparing a generation capable of meeting the demands of a changing job market.”
Al-Kuhaji emphasized that the program is a pioneering initiative within the Kuwaiti banking sector, as it provides a comprehensive developmental pathway for Kuwaiti students studying in the UK. She noted that it embodies the bank’s commitment to continuing the attraction and development of national talent, in line with the vision of Kuwait 2035, which aims to develop human capital and build a knowledge- and innovation-based economy.
These initiatives underscore the National Bank’s position as one of the top employer brands among Kuwaitis, particularly among young talent seeking to build distinguished careers. This standing is underpinned by the bank’s sustained investment in developing national competencies, its provision of an attractive work environment that fosters professional and leadership growth, and its empowerment of employees to realize their aspirations—thereby strengthening its ability to attract and retain top talent over the long term.
The National Bank has consistently adopted high-impact initiatives across various sectors to support society and promote sustainable development. Foremost among these is its investment in education, reflecting the bank’s commitment to creating added value for the community—not only through the quality of its banking services, but also through its active contribution to nurturing a qualified generation capable of leading Kuwait’s development journey.
