University of Utah Awards the GCC Secretary-General the First Distinguished Impact Graduate Award

The University of Utah in the United States awarded Jasim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), the inaugural Distinguished Impact Alumni Award for this year. The award recognizes his achievements since graduating from the University of Utah and his professional and diplomatic contributions throughout his career.

On this occasion, Al-Budaiwi expressed his pride in receiving this honor from the University of Utah, emphasizing that the university holds a special place in his academic journey and that the knowledge and experience he gained there contributed to building his professional and diplomatic career.

He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the University of Utah’s administration, stating that he does not view this recognition as an endpoint, but rather as a contract and a commitment to ensure the continued bridge of relations between the Gulf region and the university. He noted that relations between the Gulf states and the United States are in a stronger and more active state than ever before, with more students crossing this bridge, more research being shared through it, and greater mutual understanding flowing in both directions.

He praised the university’s distinguished academic standing and the outstanding efforts of its teaching and academic staff in instilling the values of science and knowledge, while also appreciating the role of the faculty in supporting his professional career.

The Secretary-General encouraged the students present to continue investing in their education and continuously developing their capabilities and skills, and to take advantage of the academic and research opportunities provided by the university. He affirmed that the ability to learn, evolve, and keep pace with changes has become one of the most important components of success and excellence.

At the conclusion of the event, Al-Budaiwi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the University of Utah’s administration, academic staff, and students for their warm reception and honor, wishing the university and its community continued progress and success, and further academic and knowledge-based contributions that serve societies and strengthen bridges of communication and international cooperation.
