United States Officially Withdraws from Human Rights Council

The United States officially announced its withdrawal from the United Nations Human Rights Council on Thursday evening.

The U.S. State Department attacked the UN Human Rights Council, alleging that it promotes an “anti-American narrative,” “appeases repressive regimes,” and “turns the rights it claims to protect into a laughingstock.” It reaffirmed that Washington “will not back down from President Trump’s campaign to drain the financial resources of the Iranian regime.”
