In a statement, the Fund noted that the contribution comes amid continued participation by private-sector institutions in supporting the Fund, coinciding with its transition to a phase of financing projects and activities related to addressing damage to the country’s vital facilities and services.
It added that the continuity of contributions enhances the Fund’s ability to direct its resources toward needs that meet financing requirements, in accordance with established controls and standards and in coordination with relevant government authorities.
The Kuwait Emergency Response Fund was launched on July 5 last year, following an initiative by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and approval by the Council of Ministers. It is managed and directed to finance response, recovery, and repair efforts for damage to the country’s essential facilities and services.
