At least seven Palestinians, including two children, were killed and others injured today, Tuesday, in Israeli airstrikes and shelling that hit scattered areas in the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources and the Palestinian Civil Defense.

Mahmoud Bassal, spokesperson for the Gaza Civil Defense, said that seven Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes across various parts of the Strip, including two children in an airstrike targeting the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

Bassal added that several Palestinians were injured in the strikes, noting that Civil Defense teams continued to respond to the sites hit by the bombardment, recovering the dead and the wounded, amid difficulties in accessing some of the targeted areas.

Sources said the strikes began with an explosion caused by a drone, followed by the firing of two rockets at the location, resulting in casualties among displaced persons in the area.

For his part, the Israeli military announced in a statement that it had assassinated a Hamas official, without providing further details.

Medical sources said that three Palestinians, including a child, were killed and several others injured in two Israeli strikes on a group of civilians on the Third Street in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in northwestern Gaza City.

The sources clarified that the second strike occurred after civilians gathered at the site in an attempt to help the injured and transport them, leading to further casualties.

The sources added that two other Palestinians were killed in separate Israeli strikes in Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip, raising the death toll in these areas to five.

According to the ministry, the number of dead in the Strip since the ceasefire came into effect on October 10 has risen to 1,375, while the number of injured reached 4,686, in addition to 831 bodies recovered.

Since the war began on October 7, 2023, the total number of dead in the Gaza Strip has reached 73,789, according to the Health Ministry, while the number of injured has reached 174,798.
