British Ambassador: A Long History of Partnership with Kuwait

Mohammed Al-Munaqi, the Acting Director General of the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), held talks with Qadasi Rashid, the British Ambassador to Kuwait, to explore ways to enhance bilateral media cooperation and exchange expertise, in service of shared interests.

Ambassador Rashid emphasized, in a statement during the meeting, his country’s commitment to strengthening media ties with Kuwait, highlighting the important role of media in documenting the distinguished relations between the two friendly countries and showcasing their continuous development across various fields.

He expressed his keen interest in closely engaging with Kuwaiti culture and its unique characteristics, voicing his admiration for its authenticity, richness, and diversity, as well as the deep-rooted values it reflects in Kuwaiti society. He noted that understanding local culture is a crucial aspect of fostering communication and closeness between the peoples of the two friendly nations.

He stated that Kuwaiti-British relations are built on a long history of cooperation and partnership, and expressed his aspiration to continue working on developing collaboration between media institutions in both countries and exchanging expertise, thereby enhancing communication and understanding between the two friendly peoples.

For his part, Al-Munaqi, during his reception of Ambassador Rashid, underscored the deep historical ties binding Kuwait and the United Kingdom, pointing to the importance of strengthening cooperation between media institutions in the two friendly countries to expand areas of coordination and exchange of information and professional expertise.

He said that KUNA is keen on developing its partnerships with international media institutions and benefiting from British experiences and expertise in various media fields, in addition to highlighting Kuwait’s affairs, its renaissance, achievements, rich history, and its humanitarian role worldwide across British media outlets.
