Kuwait and Italy: Enhancing Cooperation in Crisis Management

A team from the National Center for Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management, known as “Aman,” visited the Italian Civil Protection Department to learn about its experience in crisis and disaster management, coordination mechanisms, emergency response, and decision-support systems at the national level.
In a statement today, the “Aman” team said the visit was part of its program to study international experiences and draw on best practices in civil protection and crisis and disaster management, thereby supporting efforts to develop Kuwait’s national system.
During the visit, the team reviewed the center’s operational mechanisms, communication and coordination systems during crises, procedures for handling various emergency situations, and the role of the systems and technologies used to enhance response speed and improve the efficiency of crisis management.
The visit also included the Italian Civil Protection’s training center, where the team examined training, qualification, exercises, and simulation programs designed to boost the readiness of personnel and response teams, and explored ways to benefit from Italy’s experience in capacity-building and specialized training.
