Al-Tatbatbawi: Providing a safe and stimulating learning environment

Al-Tabtabai stated, while inspecting several schools in the Capital Education District yesterday to assess readiness levels, operational regularity, and the educational atmosphere on the ground, that “returning to school is not merely the start of a new academic year, but the beginning of a new phase of work, responsibility, and achievement.”

In a related development, Al-Tabtabai issued a decision yesterday to establish the job title “Trainee Teacher” within the educational job classifications. The minimum qualification required for applicants is a university degree. The teacher will hold this position for one year, during which they will undergo a training program. Upon successful completion, they will be transferred to the job levels designated for members of the teaching staff.

He also issued a decision approving the Secondary Stage Tracks Regulations, to be implemented starting from the current academic year. The curriculum plan spans three years, from Grade 10 to Grade 12, distributed across six semesters.

Coinciding with the launch of the new 2026/2027 academic year and the full return to school for students in the primary, middle, and secondary stages, Minister of Education Eng. Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabai inspected several schools in the Capital Education District to assess readiness levels, operational regularity, and the educational atmosphere at the start of the academic year.

During the tour, the Minister reviewed the progress of the educational process and listened to feedback from members of the teaching and administrative staff, as well as students. He also monitored the readiness of classrooms and educational and service facilities, emphasizing the importance of providing a safe, stable, and stimulating learning environment that addresses students’ needs and supports a positive and organized start to the academic year from day one.

In a statement, Al-Tabtabai congratulated members of the teaching and administrative staff, as well as male and female students, on the launch of the new academic year. He expressed his appreciation for the dedicated efforts of all school employees in serving the educational process. He wished everyone a year filled with productivity and achievement, and success and excellence for the students.

He stated, “Returning to school is not merely the start of a new academic year, but the beginning of a new phase of work, responsibility, and achievement. The Ministry of Education is present in the field alongside its educational and administrative staff, and will spare no effort in providing everything necessary to support schools and enable their staff to fulfill their mission to the best of their ability.”

He noted that the Ministry continues its field monitoring of various schools and kindergartens, emphasizing that readiness, stability, and the quality of the learning environment are key priorities at this stage. He added that observations and needs identified in the field will be addressed according to priority, contributing to providing the best possible educational and administrative conditions for students and staff.

He mentioned that the start of the academic year represents an important milestone for completing the efforts made by the various sectors of the Ministry over the past period. He called on school administrations and members of the teaching and administrative staff to continue working with a team spirit and to enhance cooperation and coordination to ensure an organized, safe, and stimulating learning environment.

The Minister of Education addressed students on the occasion of the new academic year, stating: “My dear male and female students, this is a new academic year brimming with fresh opportunities for learning, success, and the realization of your aspirations. I urge you to be diligent and hardworking, and to make the most of all the resources your schools provide. Let this year be a new milestone for excellence and building the future. We have full confidence in your abilities and ambitions, and we look forward to seeing even more achievements and successes from you, as you continue to be a source of pride for your families, your schools, and your nation.”

He emphasized that the success of the academic year is a shared responsibility, requiring the coordinated efforts of the Ministry, school administrations, teaching and administrative staff, families, and students alike. He stressed that the well-being of students remains a top priority for the Ministry. He also commended the efforts of educational professionals in the field, expressing his confidence in their ability to continue their work and dedication.

He clarified that the Ministry looks forward to an academic year defined by hard work, achievement, and development, reflecting Kuwait’s aspirations to elevate its education system and provide a supportive and stimulating learning environment for our students. This, he noted, will contribute to achieving the goals of the educational process and building a generation capable of sustaining the nation’s development trajectory.
