The duo won the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival on Saturday for their documentary about Israeli airstrikes that killed Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

In the film “Naza,” the pair presents interviews with 24 anonymous Israeli intelligence operatives who provide detailed insights into their operations. The interviews were conducted at night on rooftops in Tel Aviv.

“Naza” is an acronym for a Hebrew phrase reportedly used to estimate the number of civilians killed in a military strike.

Zohar said that Abraham and Tzur were prepared to “harm their homeland in order to gain the approval and applause of anti-Semites around the world.”

Zohar wrote on the X platform: “I will immediately move to strip these despicable creators of their Israeli citizenship on charges of treason against the state.”

Far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir also took to the X platform, describing the duo as “a shame and embarrassment” to Israel.

He added, “I am sure your friends, namely our enemies Hamas in Gaza, will welcome you with open arms.”

The Israeli military rejected the allegations made in the film. A military spokesperson, in response to the documentary, accused Hamas of deliberately embedding military infrastructure within civilian areas.

More than 20,000 children have been killed in Gaza since October 2023, according to United Nations figures.

The film also addresses Hamas’s attacks on October 7, 2023, which killed approximately 1,200 people in Israel and led to Israeli airstrikes that devastated much of Gaza.
