Zelensky: We appreciate Kuwait's steadfast support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his sincere gratitude to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, for their congratulations on the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s restoration of independence.

In a post on his X account, Zelenskyy stated that his country “highly appreciates Kuwait’s steadfast support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” while also praising the friendship and mutual respect that unite the two countries and their peoples.

Zelenskyy’s message follows celebrations in Ukraine on August 24 marking the 35th anniversary of the restoration of its independence, a time when Kyiv emphasizes the importance of international support for its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Ukrainian Embassy in Kuwait recently underscored the importance of relations between the two countries, noting that Kuwait, given its historical experience with the Iraqi invasion in 1990, particularly understands the significance of sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. The embassy also commended Kuwait’s support for Ukraine, including humanitarian aid.
