Foreign Minister Discusses with His Japanese Counterpart the Enhancement of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership

Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, met today, Wednesday, with Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, during the Kuwaiti minister’s official visit to the Japanese capital, Tokyo.

The meeting reviewed the close historical ties between the two friendly countries and their ongoing progressive development, following the elevation of bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership last year. Both sides emphasized that the current year marks a significant milestone in Kuwait-Japan relations, coinciding with the 56th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two nations.

The two parties stressed their commitment to enhancing Kuwait-Japan cooperation across various fields and intensifying coordination and consultation on multiple fronts, in order to advance the shared interests of the two friendly countries.

The meeting also discussed recent regional and international developments and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, foremost among them developments in the region and diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and promoting security and stability.
