Japanese Ambassador: We are cooperating with Kuwait to support the security and stability of navigation

Japan’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Kinichiro Mukai, confirmed that Kuwait-Japan relations are expanding into new areas, alongside traditional cooperation in oil, energy, electricity, and water, to include artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, renewable energy, and other vital sectors.

In a press statement on the sidelines of a sporting event hosted at his residence yesterday, attended by the Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma, Mukai pointed out that discussions between the two countries are underway on several security issues, ensuring stable energy supplies, enhancing resilience, and exchanging expertise. He emphasized Japan’s commitment to cooperating with Kuwait in all matters that support the security and stability of navigation.

The ambassador revealed anticipation for high-level talks between the two countries in the near future, expecting an announcement “within days.”

Regarding the possibility of operating direct flights between Kuwait and Tokyo, Mukai confirmed that discussions are taking place between the civil aviation authorities of both countries, clarifying that this file is one of the topics under discussion and that communications on it will continue.
