Civil Aviation's affiliation with International Airports strengthens Kuwait's presence
The Cabinet held its meeting yesterday at the T2 terminal of the new Kuwait International Airport project, presided over by Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, underscoring the government’s commitment to overseeing the implementation of the airport project.
The meeting followed a visit by Sheikh Ahmad and the ministers to the new airport terminal, during which His Highness emphasized the importance of cooperation and coordination to accelerate work progress and operationalize the airport, which represents a milestone in Kuwait’s air transport sector. During the meeting, the Cabinet was informed that the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) has joined the Airports Council International (ACI), a move that strengthens Kuwait’s presence within the global airport network and supports efforts to develop the Kuwait International Airport system in line with best practices and international standards.
The Airports Council International is the global organization representing airport interests, comprising 811 members who manage more than 2,200 airports in over 160 countries worldwide. The Council works to enhance the safety, security, efficiency, and sustainability of airports, as well as service quality and passenger experience. PACA’s membership in the ACI enables it to benefit from expertise, data, training programs, and international standards, participate in specialized committees and events, and exchange best practices with the world’s largest airports, thereby contributing to improved operational efficiency, the development of national human resources, and an enhanced passenger experience.
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet was briefed on the content of a written message received by His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, from the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council of Sudan, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, concerning the fraternal bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to strengthen and develop them across various fields. The message was delivered to His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, by Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohi Eldin Salem during his official visit to Kuwait with the accompanying delegation.
The Cabinet was also briefed on meetings held between His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister, with Lieutenant General Asim Malik, National Security Advisor and Director General of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), and the accompanying delegation, during his visit to the country.
The Cabinet reviewed several items on the agenda, including reports and minutes of ministerial committees, and approved them. It also decided to refer some items to the relevant ministerial committees for study and to submit appropriate recommendations to complete the necessary procedures for their implementation.
