The Story of Things Yet to Be Seen!
It is said that a boy once lived in a certain land, where an old tale was passed down from generation to generation: at the edges of the country, there were three things that few could see except in imagination.
The first was a giant said to sleep only when every person’s rights were fully restored. The second was a phoenix whose feathers rarely stayed in the sky for long. The third was a loyal companion who remained unchanged by the passage of time.
Whenever he entered a new place, he would ask about the giant. Some would tell him, “He passed through here long ago,” while others said, “We saw his shadow one evening.” But whenever he asked, “Where is he now?” they would fall silent. It seemed the giant appeared only when speaking of justice was easy, and vanished when the moment truly arrived.
Then he asked about the phoenix. He was told that it had always soared above them, leading people to believe the sky was never without it. Then it disappeared, leaving behind only a single feather, passed from hand to hand, with no one knowing where it had fallen. It was said that the phoenix would appear only to those who refused to sell what had been entrusted to them, and who spoke the truth even when the cost was heavier than silence.
As for the loyal companion, his story was even more puzzling. Every time the boy asked about him, someone would point him toward another person, each claiming that this or that individual was the loyal companion. He kept walking until he realized that some things might be lost when people point to them too often.
The boy continued on his journey until he reached an old well, where he found a calm elder. He asked, “Uncle, have you seen any of these things?”
The elder raised his eyes and replied, “I have seen their traces, my son, but I have never seen them themselves.” The boy returned home smiling and told no one what he had heard.
For he understood that some stories are not told because they have an ending, but because people sometimes need something to talk about, even if it is born of imagination.
