US Removes Jabhat al-Nusra from Terrorist Organization List

The United States also removed Syria from its list of state sponsors of terrorism on Monday, ending a designation it had maintained for 47 years.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in a statement that this move “will help encourage further investment in Syria, thereby strengthening its political and economic stability,” following the fall of former President Bashar al-Assad’s regime in December 2024.
