China Opens World Humanoid Robot Games with Participation of 2,000 Robots

The second edition of the Humanoid Robot World Games opened in Beijing last Saturday evening, attracting 666 teams and 2,056 robots from 16 countries.

The event, which will run for five days at the National Speed Skating Oval, features 51 competitions.

Around 1,000 humanoid robots appeared at the opening ceremony, showcasing technological advancements and their growing applications in real-world workplaces and daily life. Rather than being held in simulated environments, scenario-based events will take place in actual settings such as factories, hotels, and model homes, pushing humanoid robots from being mere “display tools” toward “practical productivity.”

This edition of the games is co-hosted by the Beijing Municipal Government, China Media Group, the Global Robotics Cooperation Organization, and the International Council of the Asia-Pacific Robot World Cup.

The first edition of the Humanoid Robot World Games was held in August 2025, drawing 280 teams and more than 500 humanoid robots from 16 countries.
