Nvidia raises prices of its AI servers by more than 15% next year

Bloomberg News reported on Saturday that some of Nvidia’s largest clients received notices that prices for servers equipped with its artificial intelligence chips would rise by more than 15 percent in many cases, driven by a sharp increase in memory chip costs.

The report cited informed sources saying the price hikes would apply to systems scheduled to begin shipping in early next year and would include systems equipped with Nvidia’s leading Vera Rubin and Grace Blackwell chips.

Sources indicated that the increases would be approved based on the Nvidia chip generation and the configurations controlling how memory operates. Reuters was unable to verify the report at the time. Nvidia had not yet responded to a request for comment after hours. The report stated that companies manufacturing servers under contract for major data center operators, such as Microsoft, Google, and Oracle, have recently informed their clients of the anticipated increases. Nvidia, whose chips form the foundation for a significant portion of AI infrastructure build-out, is scheduled to announce second-quarter results on August 26. The company has become a barometer for the broader AI sector, which includes chip manufacturers and firms funding the rapid expansion of data center capacity.
