Kuwait part ways with coach Alexandre Santos

Kuwait Club officials mutually terminated the contract of the first-team head coach, Portuguese manager Alexandre Santos, following the friendly match against Kazma held last Thursday evening at the Sadaqua Walsalam Stadium, which ended in a 2-0 victory for the Orange.

Alexandre officially assumed the role during the team’s recent training camp in London, following the announcement that the club would not renew the contract of Montenegrin coach Nebojsa with Kuwait.

For his part, Kuwait’s assistant coach, Tunisian Karim Chadli, announced the end of his ten-year tenure with the national team, citing his mother’s illness and his completion of a coaching course to obtain the Pro License, which will qualify him to manage senior teams.

Reports indicated that Kuwait Club had entered into negotiations with former Fehail head coach Firas Al-Khatib, which were successfully concluded. It was also reported that Firas had arrived in the country to officially assume his new role with the national team.

Al-Khatib successfully led Fehail over the past four years, guiding the Red team to compete in the league group and achieving results that earned widespread praise and recognition. Kuwait Club is expected to announce the new head coach within the coming hours.
