Panama regulates ship passage through the canal and introduces auctions for fast-track transit

The Panama Canal Authority announced restrictions on daily ship transits starting in September, gradually limiting the number of vessels passing through due to declining water levels. It added that initially, 34 ships per day will be allowed to transit starting September 4, with the number officially reduced to 32 ships per day on September 15.
