Turkish Trabzonspor loses to Hungarian Ferencváros in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers

Turkish club Trabzonspor suffered a 0-1 home defeat to Hungarian visitors Ferencváros on Thursday in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League qualifying round.

The Hungarian side scored the match’s only goal in the 17th minute through Christopher Zakariassen, while Trabzonspor’s Chucky Ngawio was sent off in the final moments of stoppage time in the second half.

This was Salah’s first home appearance for Trabzonspor since joining the club this summer. He had previously come on as a substitute in the opening match of the Turkish Super Lig, which ended in an away draw against Kasımpaşa.

In other matches, Besiktas took the lead in the sixth minute through Oh Hyeon-gyu, and his teammate Michael Morillo doubled the lead in the 12th minute.

In the rest of the first-leg fixtures, Belgian Anderlecht defeated Kazakh Kairat Almaty 3-0, Polish Jagiellonia thrashed Georgian Saburtalo 4-0, Austrian Red Bull Salzburg beat Swedish Mjallby 1-0, and Polish Lech Poznan overwhelmed Swiss Thun 7-0.
