Kuwait Scientific Center Concludes Its 2026 Summer Programs

The Scientific Center, one of the centers under the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, concluded its summer programs for 2026, following a season rich in educational and training activities and experiments targeting children and youth. These programs contributed to developing their skills and enhancing their passion for science and learning within an interactive environment that combines knowledge with practical experience.

The summer programs this year included the Scientific Summer Camp, the Summer Field Training Program, and the Volunteers Program. Each was designed to provide a comprehensive experience tailored to different age groups, contributing to the development of participants’ scientific, practical, and personal skills.

The Scientific Summer Camp, which ran for 10 weeks and targeted children aged 6 to 12, offered a diverse range of interactive scientific activities. These included experiments in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM), alongside creative workshops, sports activities, and field trips, thereby fostering a spirit of exploration, experimentation, and teamwork among participants.

The Summer Field Training Program provided participants with the opportunity to closely observe the work environment at the Scientific Center and gain practical experience that helped develop their skills and acquire new expertise. This was achieved through participation in various tasks and activities and direct interaction with staff teams across different fields.

In line with the Scientific Center’s commitment to promoting a culture of volunteerism and social responsibility among youth, the Volunteers Program offered a practical experience that enabled participants to contribute to the center’s activities and programs and interact with visitors. This helped them develop communication and teamwork skills, assume responsibility, and strengthen values of initiative, generosity, and community service.

The center emphasized that the success of its summer programs reflects its ongoing commitment to its mission of simplifying science, disseminating scientific culture, and investing in the capabilities of children and youth. This commitment is built on more than 25 years of experience, as the center continues to develop its educational and community initiatives to inspire future generations and strengthen the foundation of a knowledge- and innovation-based society.

For her part, Sheikhah Al-Ibrahim, the official spokesperson and Director of the Public Relations and Media Department at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, stated that the authority participated in the camp’s events by delivering a series of lectures and interactive awareness activities aimed at enhancing environmental awareness among children and youth and reinforcing positive behaviors toward the environment.

Al-Ibrahim added that the authority’s participation aligns with its efforts to disseminate environmental culture among community members, introduce students to daily practices that contribute to environmental conservation, and encourage them to adopt more sustainable choices and behaviors in their daily lives.

She noted that the authority delivered awareness lectures to summer club students, covering various environmental topics in an interactive and simplified manner. This approach helped reinforce environmental concepts and enhance the sense of responsibility toward the environment among youth.

She further explained that this participation falls within the framework of continuous cooperation between the two parties, aimed at delivering environmental awareness messages to various segments of society, especially children, through educational and interactive activities that combine knowledge with enjoyment, contributing to the development of a generation more aware and responsible toward its environment.
