Remnants of Illusion: The Face of Deception

Remnants of Illusion: The Face of Deception

In the Al-Reh area, stretching along the road opposite the Bird Market and the Friday Market, there are shops selling consumer goods. The buildings are topped by the largest sign in the area, which reads “Iranian Goods Market.” Beneath this sign is a row of commercial outlets where simple Iranians earn their livelihood, by the grace of God, without having been subjected to any harassment to date—neither physical nor verbal—since the Iranian regime began its heinous attacks on Gulf states, with our country bearing the brunt of them. Indeed, Kuwaitis, with their upright human ethics, treat them with the utmost respect, just as they do other expatriates living safely in this country.

Most money changers in exchange markets, whether in Mubarak Al-Kabeer, Fahaheel, Farwaniya, or Jahra, are Iranians, trading in various currencies, without any reports of them violating the laws of the state. If Kuwait competes with France, Italy, and Turkey in the density of restaurants, it surpasses all these countries in the diversity of global cuisines, with Iranian restaurants being among the most famous. These establishments serve delicious Iranian dishes that attract Kuwaitis and others to spend their finest moments there.

In the vegetable market in the Mubarak Al-Kabeer area, the fish market, and other popular markets, while the Iranian regime was venting its hatred on all Gulf states by launching ballistic missiles and drones aimed at our civilian institutions and citizens, Iranian vendors were living in safety, assured that no one would retaliate against them for the Iranian attacks launched day and night against all Gulf states, as such behavior is not characteristic of Kuwaitis.

When asked why he does not address them in Arabic, he replied that he wants to emphasize that Iranian traders working in Kuwait sympathize with Kuwaitis and have no connection with the crimes committed by the Revolutionary Guard, as they came to Kuwait, a safe state that provides them with all means of a decent livelihood. He added that the most affected by Iranian attacks are Iranians in the Gulf region, which is proof that this regime does not consider the interests of Iranians within Iran, let alone those fleeing its tyranny.

Therefore, I am convinced that the Iranian regime has become Israel’s right hand. Instead of directing its ballistic missiles, particularly the intercontinental Qiam missiles, toward the US fleets very close to Iranian borders or toward Israel—the only two parties accused of igniting the current war—we see the Revolutionary Guard insisting on betraying its Gulf neighbors.

The mere insistence of the Iranian regime on directing its revenge toward Gulf states rather than the nearby US warships surrounding Iran is clear proof that it is either incapable of confronting the United States and Israel, or that it deliberately aids Israel in destabilizing the region.

Had the Iranian regime relied on reason and logic, it would have kept bilateral trade open with Gulf states to compensate for the harshness of international sanctions imposed on Iran and its oppressed people for five decades. However, Iran’s blind stubbornness has led it to “suffer from its own folly.”
