Gulf-China meeting discusses Iranian attacks and their repercussions on regional security

Senior officials from the foreign ministries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, along with the Chinese delegation and the GCC General Secretariat, discussed Iranian attacks on GCC countries and their repercussions on the security and stability of the region, alongside a number of regional political and security issues, foremost among them the security of maritime passages and navigation, energy security, and counter-terrorism.
This took place during a meeting held today at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh, attended by senior officials from the foreign ministries of the GCC member states, the Chinese delegation, and the GCC General Secretariat.
Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Owais highlighted that the meeting comes within the framework of the strategic partnership between the GCC and China, and as an extension of the outcomes of the first Gulf-China Summit held in Riyadh in 2022, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership between the two sides to serve their mutual interests.
The meeting also discussed areas of joint cooperation and ways to develop them within the framework of the joint action plan for the period from 2023 to 2027, and exchanged views on the future of Gulf-China relations.
