Interior Ministry: Suspension of automatic renewal for all "Visit" visas starting September 1

The Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday that the exceptional measures have been lifted and that the legal time limits for entry permits and leave authorizations will resume as of September 1 of next year.

In a press release, the ministry stated that, effective September 1, 2026, the automatic extension of all types of entry permits, including visit visas, for individuals currently in the country will be discontinued. The legal time limits and the regulations and controls governing entry permits will be reinstated.

The ministry clarified that the residence permit license confirmation certificate obtained from the unified government electronic services application (Sahel) serves as the official and authoritative reference for determining the expiration date of the leave authorization. It urged residents to adhere to the specified duration upon their return to the country.
