The three-way battle for qualification for the "Excellent" tier will be decided tomorrow

The curtain will fall tomorrow on the Zain First Division football league, with the 21st and final round of matches featuring four games: Al-Sahel versus Al-Yarmouk at Jaber Al-Ahmad Stadium, Al-Jazira against Al-Salmiya at Nasser Al-Asimi Stadium, Al-Shamya facing Khaitan at the auxiliary pitch of Jaber International Stadium, and Sport Club versus Burqan at Al-Sahel Stadium.
Following Al-Sahel’s promotion to the Premier League after a goalless draw with Al-Salmiya, the battle for the second promotion spot has intensified among three clubs: Al-Salmiya, Al-Yarmouk, and Al-Jazira.
The match between top-ranked Al-Sahel, with 44 points, and third-placed Al-Yarmouk, with 40 points, is expected to be fiercely contested as both teams strive for victory, despite their differing objectives.
Al-Yarmouk aims to secure a win and all three points to earn promotion to the Premier League, hoping that Al-Salmiya drops points by losing or even drawing against Al-Jazira.
Meanwhile, Al-Salmiya, the runner-up with 41 points, is in the strongest position to secure promotion through today’s match against Al-Jazira. Theoretically, they control their own destiny: a win guarantees their return to the Premier League regardless of the outcome of the Al-Sahel-Al-Yarmouk clash, while a draw would also see them promoted if Al-Yarmouk fails to win.
Al-Jazira, fourth with 38 points, harbors hopes of securing promotion by defeating Al-Salmiya first and hoping Al-Yarmouk loses to Al-Sahel. They hold the advantage in head-to-head records against their opponents today, having won the first meeting and drawn the second.
In the two dead-rubber matches, Al-Shamya will face Khaitan, and Sport Club will take on Burqan. Both sides will aim to end the season with a morale-boosting victory, as they have already been eliminated from the promotion race.
