Monaco terminates Pogba's contract

French club Monaco announced today that it will terminate the contract of English midfielder Paul Pogba, a former player at Manchester United and Juventus, following a series of injuries.

Pogba, 33, won the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France, but since the end of his ban due to a doping case, he has struggled to regain his form.

In a statement, Monaco said that the objectives set with Pogba had “only been partially met,” leading to the decision to end his contract, which was set to run until June 2027.

Pogba is currently sidelined with a thigh injury, shortly after returning from a knee injury.

Monaco praised the player’s “exceptional mentality, determination, and consistently high standards,” confirming that even during his injury periods, he had a positive impact on the team by “sharing his experience and knowledge” with his teammates.
