“Burqan” Concludes the Latest Edition of Its Summer Training Program “Path”

In line with its ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility and investment in developing future national talent, Boubyan Bank successfully concluded the latest edition of its summer training program, “Path,” following a four-week training journey involving 28 male and female participants.

Developed in collaboration with CODED Academy, the program included children of Boubyan Bank employees and trainees from Loyak, blending theoretical knowledge with practical experience in the banking sector. It also focused on developing digital skills, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship, thereby enhancing participants’ readiness for their future academic and professional stages.

The program concluded with a graduation ceremony and student project presentations, during which participants showcased their graduation projects, their experiences, and the knowledge and skills they had acquired throughout the program, in front of a judging panel comprising several Boubyan Bank executives. The ceremony also featured awards for outstanding participants, including “Best Sales” and “Best Application and Project Idea,” in recognition of their creativity and ability to apply what they had learned during the program and transform their ideas into practical projects.

The program offers a comprehensive experience that combines theoretical education with practical application. It includes workshops delivered by CODED Academy aimed at enhancing participants’ financial literacy, digital capabilities, and field skills, while broadening their horizons and familiarizing them with promising career opportunities in the banking sector and the general job market.

The “Path” program is part of Boubyan Bank’s efforts to consolidate a culture of continuous learning, support its employees and their families, and strengthen collaboration with educational institutions. It also provides young people with the opportunity to gain close exposure to the work environment and develop a range of practical, digital, financial, and personal skills that help them better prepare for future academic and professional opportunities.

Commenting on the occasion, Fatima Ahmed, Senior Manager of Corporate Culture and Employee Relations at the bank, said: “We are proud today to have seen participants complete a full month of training that combined banking culture, digital skills, entrepreneurship, and practical experience across various sectors of the bank. The graduation projects reflected the knowledge and skills the students acquired during the program, as well as the creativity, confidence, teamwork, and ability to transform their ideas into viable projects they demonstrated.”

She added: “Through the Path program, we aim to provide young people with the opportunity to learn through experience, discover their potential, and gain a deeper understanding of the work environment. The progress we observed among participants and the quality of the projects they presented at the end of the program confirm the importance of investing in high-quality experiences that contribute to preparing national talent for the demands of the future job market.”

For her part, Nida Daneshi, Director of Professional Empowerment at Loyak, said: “We are pleased to collaborate with Boubyan Bank through the (Path) summer training program, which provided young people with the opportunity to undergo a real practical experience and gain close exposure to the work environment, thereby contributing to the development of their professional and personal skills and enhancing their readiness for the future.”

She added: “Such experiences contribute to developing a range of essential skills among young people, including teamwork, effective communication, responsibility, and problem-solving, while giving them greater confidence as they transition to their upcoming academic and professional stages.”

The Path program, whose content was developed in collaboration with the CODED Academy, included a comprehensive entrepreneurship track, through which participants gained practical experience in developing digital app ideas, designing visual identities, and creating prototypes for websites and applications. The program also focused on enhancing public speaking, presentation, and delivery skills, which participants applied practically during their project presentations at the graduation ceremony.

During the final two weeks of the program, participants undertook field training placements across various departments and branches of Bank of Kuwait Al-Ahli (BNA), allowing them to gain close exposure to the nature of work in the banking sector and acquire hands-on experience under the supervision of the bank’s experts.

The program also featured awareness workshops aimed at strengthening participants’ financial and banking literacy as part of the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign, launched by the Central Bank of Kuwait in partnership with the Kuwait Banks Association and Kuwaiti banks. These workshops covered several topics, including financial fraud methods, cybercrime, and preventive measures, the importance of saving, and the safe use of banking services. Participants were also encouraged to adopt sound financial behaviors from an early age. Additionally, the program contributed to developing key skills relevant to the banking work environment, such as customer service, effective communication, and teamwork.

With the conclusion of this edition of the Path program, Bank of Kuwait Al-Ahli reaffirms its commitment to investing in the development of young national talent and providing high-quality educational and practical experiences in collaboration with educational and technological institutions. This effort aims to prepare a generation equipped with the knowledge, skills, and expertise necessary to meet future demands, in line with the bank’s corporate social responsibility strategy and its slogan, “You Are Our Strength.”
