Kuwait Zakat House contributes $1 million to the Emergency Response

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced today that Bayt al-Zakat has contributed $1 million to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund, in support of efforts to address priority needs and enhance the country’s capacity to respond to emergency situations.

Bayt al-Zakat is a public authority with an independent budget, established in 1982 to collect, develop, and distribute zakat and charitable contributions in accordance with Islamic law, thereby promoting social solidarity and serving the community. Its charitable and humanitarian activities and projects extend both within Kuwait and abroad.

The Kuwait Emergency Response Fund was launched on July 5 last year, following an initiative by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and approval by the Council of Ministers. The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development is tasked with managing the fund and overseeing its operations, with the aim of providing a financial mechanism to support priority interventions and projects and to address emergency needs.
