Kuwait Youth Deliver Strong Performance in Exhibition Match Against Iraq

Kuwait’s Under-20 national football team is set to play its first friendly match during its training camp in Thailand, facing Iraq today (Wednesday).

The “Blue Team” is using this camp to prepare for Group 7 of the Asian Youth Championship qualifiers, which will take place from August 31 to September 6.

The draw placed Kuwait in the same group as hosts Cambodia, Yemen, and Japan.

Coach Milin is focusing less on the result of today’s match and more on ensuring the players execute tactical instructions and display the appropriate technical and physical standards at this stage, especially with only 13 days remaining before the qualifiers begin.

Kuwait will be without the services of Fawaz Al-Dawood and Abdullah Al-Rashidi in today’s match, as they missed the departure with the delegation. Even if they arrive in Thailand later today, Milin will not include them in the lineup due to lack of match readiness.

The objectives of the Iraqi coaching staff, led by coach Ahmed Salah, are not vastly different from Milin’s, as both aim to reach peak performance before the qualifiers commence and ensure all players are prepared for the three group matches. Iraq is also playing two additional friendly matches during its current camp in Thailand, facing Indonesia and Iran on August 22 and 25, respectively.
