The Court of Appeal’s Civil Division acquitted the Director of the Legal Department at the Tourism Projects Company of any legal violations in the lawsuit filed against him by the President of the Court of Audit and the President of the Office of Fatwa and Legislation, in his capacity as head of the Disciplinary Trials Committee, and by the Deputy Secretary-General of the Civil Service Bureau and the Assistant Secretary-General of “Accounting,” in his capacity as a member of the Disciplinary Trials Committee.
The appeal judgment affirmed that the Director of the Legal Department at Tourism Projects is recognized for integrity and competence, and it cleared him of the allegations contained in the indictment report concerning the conclusion of a contract with a food company. The case stemmed from the contract being finalized without obtaining approvals from the Ministry of Finance’s State Property Administration, and without subjecting the matter to a public tender.
The judgment annulled the disciplinary penalty imposed on the Director of the Legal Department, which had resulted in his dismissal from service and all associated consequences, and it nullified the decision of the Disciplinary Trials Committee.
The Court of Appeal confirmed that the appealed judgment was well-founded, based on correct legal grounds.
