King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh Launches the Silent Airport Project

King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, begins today, Tuesday, the first phase of the gradual implementation of the “Silent Airport” project in International Terminal 5, by reducing and confining audio announcements to departure gates and strengthening reliance on screens and digital channels to convey information to passengers.
The project is part of efforts to enhance the passenger experience and provide a quieter, more comfortable environment, thereby bolstering Riyadh’s status as a global aviation hub and elevating the level of services offered at the airport, according to a statement issued today.
King Khalid International Airport was previously awarded the title of the world’s most developed airport, an achievement that reflects the accelerating pace of development it has been witnessing. It also received the title of best global airport in the category of airports handling between 30 and 40 million passengers annually.
The airport ranked 14th on the list of the world’s top 100 airports, and also secured second place in the category of best human resources among Middle Eastern airports.
