Ministry of Commerce introduces new commercial activities related to electric vehicles

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced the issuance of Ministerial Decision No. (167) of 2026 regarding the introduction and modification of commercial activities, including two activities related to electric vehicles, as part of updates to the Unified Guide for the Classification of Economic Activities in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

The newly introduced activities include the operation and management of electric vehicle charging stations under the international code 351006, alongside the sale, installation, and maintenance of electric vehicle charging devices and equipment under code 331409.

The modified activities include amending the activity of meal preparation kitchens and aircraft catering under international code 562120 to become ground services for meal preparation and aircraft catering, as well as modifying the activity of flight training schools under international code 854991 to become flight training centers, with updates to the relevant regulatory authorities for each activity.
