Al-Kura awaits official invitations to participate in Al-Awla

Al-Jarida has learned that the Kuwait Football Association is awaiting an official letter from the Police Sports Federation, confirming its participation in the Zain First Division for the 2026-2027 sports season, paving the way for the tournament draw, the date of which will be announced later.
News circulated today regarding the Police Federation’s official participation in the tournament, but a source within the federation clarified that it had not received any official correspondence on the matter as of today.
Several private clubs have also expressed their interest in participating, pending formal communication with the Kuwait Football Association to ascertain the specific participation requirements.
Only six clubs will compete in the First Division next season, following the abolition of relegation from the Premier League.
The federation had previously approved the participation of three private clubs: Al-Jazira, Al-Shamya, and Sporty. Al-Jazira began its participation two seasons ago, while the other two clubs competed in last season’s tournaments.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Interior football team achieved a notable feat in the 2025-2026 sports season, concluding its campaign by winning three major titles: the Super Cup for Ministries, Government Bodies and Institutions, the Ministries League, and the Ministries Cup, thereby affirming its strong presence in local competitions.
The team played 11 matches during the season, winning eight, drawing one, and suffering only two defeats, scoring 34 goals while conceding 21, reflecting the high technical level and competitive spirit that characterized its performance.
