Al-Kuwaitia Organizes Courses to Enhance Staff Skills in Serving People with Special Needs

Kuwait Airways, in collaboration with Shahd Shahab for the Management of Specialized Medical Centers, organized a number of specialized training courses and programs for its employees, based on a memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties. The initiative aims to enhance the skills and capabilities of staff in dealing with persons with disabilities, particularly air cabin crew and airport personnel.

The training programs covered several specialized topics on communication and interaction techniques with various categories of persons with disabilities, including those with hearing, visual, and motor impairments. They also introduced best practices and methods that contribute to providing support and assistance during all stages of travel, thereby enhancing the ease and comfort of their travel experience.

In this context, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Airways, Captain Abdulwahab Al-Shatti, stated: “Organizing these training courses stems from the company’s belief in the importance of investing in human capital and developing employees’ skills, as they are the fundamental pillar in delivering distinguished services that meet the needs of all passengers and align with their expectations.”

He clarified that these courses are part of Kuwait Airways’ commitment to continuously develop its employees’ capabilities and improve their readiness to address the diverse needs of passengers, in line with the company’s strategy to elevate service standards, promote the concept of inclusivity, and provide a distinguished travel experience for all customers without exception.

Al-Shatti emphasized that Kuwait Airways, as the national carrier of Kuwait, strives to provide an inclusive travel environment that considers the needs of various passenger groups. It continuously works to develop its services and enhance the efficiency of its workforce, reflecting its commitment to delivering a safe, comfortable, and distinguished travel experience for all its customers.

For her part, Acting Training Center Director at Kuwait Airways, Ghazlan Al-Tashah, stated that the training programs represent an important step in enhancing employees’ skills in interacting with persons with disabilities. She noted that qualifying employees and equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills contribute to providing a smoother and more comfortable travel experience, and strengthen their ability to offer appropriate support to passengers throughout all stages of their journey.

Al-Tashah pointed out that the courses included theoretical and practical components focused on communication and interaction techniques with various cases, as well as familiarizing participants with best practices in serving persons with disabilities. This enables employees to interact with them efficiently and professionally, thereby enhancing the quality of services provided at the company’s facilities and on board its flights.
