Congo: Ebola becomes deadliest in country's history with 2,325 deaths

Government data showed on Sunday that the current outbreak of the Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo has claimed 2,325 lives, surpassing the death toll from the 2018-2020 outbreak and making it the deadliest in the country’s history.
The Congo Institute of Public Health said in its latest report that the number of confirmed cases had risen to 4,945, including 101 new cases detected in the past 24 hours. This outbreak, the 17th in Congo, is indeed the largest in the country’s history in terms of case numbers, a record reached in late July.
