Saint-Germain strengthens its squad with Mika Godts

Paris Saint-Germain has strengthened its squad by signing Belgian winger Myka Gotens from Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam on a contract running until 2031, the UEFA Champions League winners announced yesterday.

The Parisian club, champions of Europe in the past two seasons, said in a statement: “Paris Saint-Germain is pleased to announce the signing of Myka Gotens,” adding that the new arrival “will wear the number 22 shirt.”

The 21-year-old Belgian has played for Ajax since 2023 and delivered an exceptional season last year, scoring 17 goals and providing 12 assists in the Dutch league, earning him the award for best young player.

Gotens, an admirer of Brazilian star Neymar, is known for his dribbling skills and ability to beat defenders, as demonstrated by his goal against PSV Eindhoven in April. Nevertheless, the Belgian has scored only four goals and provided six assists in 45 matches across his first two seasons with the Dutch club.
