stc sponsors workshop and AI competition for high school students

The initiative, organized as part of the Institute’s summer training program, reflects stc’s ongoing commitment to supporting education and empowering young talent.
The workshop provided students with the fundamentals of artificial intelligence through a blend of interactive sessions and practical applications, led by AI specialist Hussain Al-Saffar and involving researchers from KISR.
The program offered participants valuable insights into AI technologies, their practical applications, and their growing role across various industries. Given the rapid advancement and increasing demand for and reliance on AI platforms and capabilities, the workshop highlighted various use cases that can help students streamline and accelerate different activities.
During the workshop, participants also learned how to craft effective prompts to maximize the capabilities of AI tools and achieve desired outcomes when using various AI platforms. Additionally, they explored unique ways to transform their creative ideas into tangible designs and digital content.
The workshop also included various exercises that enabled students to use AI in developing innovative projects, enhancing their skills in understanding how AI platforms operate and respond to different tasks.
As part of its sponsorship, stc also supported the competition held alongside the workshop, which challenged students to produce the best AI-generated design or image using the knowledge and skills they acquired throughout the program.
stc participated in the judging panel for the competition’s final round, through a specialized committee comprising representatives from the AI and Digital Transformation Department, alongside experienced professional photographers, who evaluated submissions based on creativity, innovation, and artistic quality.
In a statement, stc noted that its sponsorship of the workshop reflects the company’s commitment to supporting education and empowering youth by equipping them with the skills needed to navigate an increasingly digital world. Through its upgrade educational initiative, stc continues to support learning opportunities that introduce students to emerging technologies while encouraging them to explore their potential through hands-on experience.
The company’s collaboration with the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) also underscores stc’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with leading national institutions and supporting the development of young national talent. Providing students with opportunities to learn more about the use of AI and understand its practical applications is part of stc’s efforts to foster a broader culture of innovation and help prepare the next generation to play an active role in Kuwait’s digital future. The company will continue to engage in educational initiatives and programs aimed at empowering students and equipping them with the knowledge they need to excel in their careers and personal lives.
At the conclusion of the program, stc participated in the closing ceremony hosted by the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), which included honoring students who participated in the Institute’s special summer program, as well as announcing the winners of the accompanying competition.
The ceremony also featured an award presented to stc in recognition of its sponsorship and support for the program, reaffirming the importance of public-private partnerships with national institutions in supporting youth and developing their skills.
