Hamas: Kushner to meet movement leadership in Egypt

Sources in Hamas told Agence France-Presse on Sunday that Jared Kushner, the envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump, will meet with the movement’s leadership in Egypt as part of his efforts to advance the peace plan for Gaza.

A well-informed source within Hamas, who requested anonymity, said, “Mediators have informed Hamas that U.S. envoy Jared Kushner will hold a meeting with Hamas’s leadership, attended by Egyptian and Qatari officials, before heading to Israel to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.”

The anticipated meeting comes amid talks in Cairo regarding the U.S. plan for Gaza, following talks held by a Hamas delegation led by Khalil al-Hayya with Egyptian officials in Alamein, northern Egypt.
