Russia launches ballistic missile attack on Kyiv

Russia launched another ballistic missile attack overnight on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, according to authorities on Sunday.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko said he heard explosions in the capital and urged residents to remain in shelters as emergency crews were deployed.
Klitschko wrote on Telegram that fires had broken out at multiple locations.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that missile, glide bomb, and drone attacks were recorded in other parts of the country, including the cities of Kremenchuk and Kryvyi Rih.
In Russia, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said air defenses intercepted more than 50 drones overnight.
He wrote on Telegram that emergency services were deployed to the site of the drone crash.
Ukraine has been fighting Russia’s full-scale invasion for more than four years. Kyiv has repeatedly warned of dwindling stocks of interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems, which are used to defend against ballistic missile attacks.
