US: Young man arrested in connection with shooting at Virginia State University

U.S. police arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a shooting on Saturday at Virginia State University that left five people injured. No one was killed in the shooting, although one victim sustained serious injuries.

Chesterfield County Police announced the arrest of Cameron Harris of Henrico, Virginia. He was found hiding in a closet on the university campus on Saturday afternoon.

Authorities stated that he was not a student at the university.

Police said they obtained eight arrest warrants for him, including charges of intentional infliction of bodily harm and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Although the shooting occurred outside university housing, only one of the injured—a 20-year-old student—was enrolled at the university. Authorities said the other four victims were between the ages of 17 and 23, and one of them, a 21-year-old young man, was seriously injured.
