Indian Ambassador: Kuwait is a trusted strategic partner, with one million Indians contributing to its development

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of India’s independence, the Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, Paramita Tripathi, stated today that India-Kuwait relations are entering a new phase of strategic partnership. She emphasized that Kuwait is a reliable and friendly partner for India, and that both countries are looking to expand cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, energy, technology, food security, education, and healthcare.
In a speech marking her country’s 80th Independence Day, delivered before a large gathering of members of the Indian community, Tripathi said that India has stood firmly by Kuwait’s side as a reliable and friendly partner. She expressed her country’s unwavering solidarity with Kuwait amid the ongoing conflict, and its support for Kuwait’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. She added that India has remained a dependable partner for Kuwait by establishing a food corridor and ensuring the supply of fresh products and essential food commodities during the conflict.
She noted that India’s celebration of its 80th Independence Day coincides with the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Kuwait. This partnership is rooted in civilizational and historical ties dating back centuries, encompassing maritime relations, trade, and people-to-people contacts. Tripathi praised the role of the Indian community in Kuwait, describing it as a “fundamental pillar” of bilateral relations, and noted that its membership numbers approximately one million people.
She highlighted that members of the Indian community have contributed to Kuwait’s development across various sectors, including construction, engineering, healthcare, education, the financial sector, information technology, and entrepreneurship. She pointed out that the Indian community constitutes an integral part of Kuwait’s social and economic fabric, serving as a “living bridge” that strengthens the closeness between the two countries and their peoples.
