Al-Jarida has learned that the Ministry of Social Affairs, represented by the Department of Charitable Associations and Trusts, has issued an official correspondence to the heads of the boards of directors of all registered charitable associations, once again warning against the dangers of engaging with any external entities not approved within the humanitarian work framework under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to sources from the Ministry of Social Affairs, the ministry emphasized the necessity of restricting associations’ dealings to approved entities, based on a communication from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noting that some charitable associations had engaged with unapproved entities, and affirming that necessary measures would be taken in case of non-compliance.

In a separate matter, the Ministry of Social Affairs informed charitable associations and trusts of the participation conditions for the seventh edition of the Family-Friendly Institutions Award for 2026, which the Arab League, represented by the Social Affairs Sector and the Family and Childhood Administration, intends to launch under the title “Best Initiatives to Enhance Family Well-being.”

The ministry clarified that the award targets government and private institutions, including civil society organizations, and aims to highlight pioneering initiatives and innovative practices that contribute to improving the quality of life of Arab families, enhancing their capacity to face contemporary challenges, and supporting their stability and cohesion.

It explained that the participation conditions require that the project or idea provide a solution to a problem within the family sphere, have a clear and tangible impact on improving family quality of life, respect the values, customs, and social traditions of Arab families, and be practically implementable and easy to use for all family members.

It added that the conditions also stipulate that the project or idea be sustainable and developable, have a clear plan to ensure its long-term continuity, rely intelligently and effectively while considering the family’s digital security and privacy, and offer innovative and unprecedented ideas or practices.

The ministry requested that charitable associations and trusts meeting the award criteria and wishing to participate submit their applications to it by the 23rd of the current month at the latest.
